Firm Obtains Acquittal of Client by Federal Jury After Eight-Week Trial on Bribery Charges

Since joining the Firm in 2017, Payton Lyon has developed broad experience at both the state and federal levels assisting clients in matters involving allegations of fraud, trade secret misappropriation, and RICO violations, among others. Payton has also represented clients during investigations conducted by numerous governmental agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice, and the California Fair Political Practices Commission.
Before joining the Firm, Payton served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Frederick F. Mumm, United States Magistrate Judge, in the Central District of California.
Payton earned his law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. While in law school, Payton worked as a student volunteer for the Loyola Law School Project for the Innocent, where he helped secure the release of a client who had served over three decades in prison for a murder he did not commit. During his time at Loyola, Payton also served as an extern to the Honorable Alka Sagar, United States Magistrate Judge, and as an extern in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California.
