Elizabeth Mitchell Elevated to Partner
Effective January 1, 2022, Elizabeth Mitchell will be elevated to Partner. Liz joined the Firm in 2018 after several years as an attorney with the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, where she worked on numerous high-profile and complex civil cases.
Since joining the Firm, Liz has developed a broad range of experience. Most recent is her representation of L.A. Alliance for Human Rights, alongside Partner Matthew Umhofer, in the fight to require the City and County of Los Angeles to act on the issue of homelessness.
James Spertus congratulated Liz on her elevation: “We are thrilled to welcome Liz to the partnership. She’s a fantastic litigator, and has particularly excellent oral advocacy skills and courtroom presence. Liz will continue to be an asset to the Firm and its clients as a Partner.”
Liz earned her law degree from Pepperdine Law School, where she was the Managing Editor of the Dispute Resolution Law Journal. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Riverside, with a joint degree in Psychology/Law and Society and graduated on the Dean’s List.
