Kasia Penn joined the firm in 2021 after working for several years at a large national firm where she defended corporations in high-stakes product liability and general liability cases, several of which went to trial. Kasia understands what it takes to prepare a case for trial, and brings her considerable litigation experience to the firm. Kasia is also a graduate of the Trial Advocacy Project (TAP), which allowed her to develop additional trial experience as a volunteer Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney.
Kasia earned her law degree from UCLA School of Law, where she participated in numerous moot court competitions and ultimately represented the School at the Eighteenth Annual Thurgood Marshall Memorial Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. Kasia graduated summa cum laude from the University of San Francisco with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Legal Studies, and subsequently continued her education at USF to receive her MA in International Studies. While at USF, Kasia worked with victims of human trafficking in the countries of Peru, Costa Rica, and Poland. She wrote her master’s thesis on further victimization of human trafficking victims by Polish law, which was based on her work at a help center for victimized women in Warsaw, Poland.
